Question

Hi folks. I am in need of advice. Getting 94WRX next week and I noticed that it had a Momo-style boss with a Nardi (can't remember) steering wheel. Just in straight from Japan. Want to bolt on Momo champion lying around. If it is the original boss from the car, will it fit straight on? Help appreciated!

Nick

Cool

In short -Yes!

You'll just have to undo the six bolts that hold the nardi wheel on and swap it over for the momo!!

I thought the holes on momo wheels were slightly further apart than the Nardi wheel as I'm considering changing to the champion myself. If it does fit, could you please let me know so I don't waste money on a new boss

Cheers

Charlie,

Got her late this afternoon. Just looked at the Nardi and the bolts are in the same place, only might be slightly larger distance across the bolts. Will find out tomorrow morning....

Thought they were. I wonder if there are any wheels which fit straight on?

I hope the Momo does fit on there. I am cramped mildly in the cockpit as it is. The current Boss is quite compact. The Momo's ain't nearly as compact I don't know of any others. Most boggo standard manufacturers make them to the normal size, e.g Momo, Sparco, OMP etc.

I have just fitted her directly onto the boss without any problems at all! A couple of things to make note of, though. You normally have a press in plate that the horn module presses into. I have had to leave that out, as it bulges out at the back of the wheel. The Nardi boss has a smaller open circle in the middle of the boss, so the bulge does not sit within it. I did find something though. The circle was the perfect size for the horn to press into! Fits perfectly snug. Also remember that this is not actually necessary for wheels like the champion, as it has an outer plate that sits around the horn anyway, holding it in place.

Just for your info, the wheel that I removed said in the middle Nardi Torino and had SUBARU pressed in on the bottom spoke. Hope this helps......
