Question

Can anyone please recommend an accurate boost gauge ? I have been told by different suppliers/ fitters that certain (other than they supply) makes are not very accurate. Assuming it may not all be a sales technique, I'd be very grateful for any personal experiences of accurate or inaccurate boost gauges - and how you found out they were accurate/inaccurate !
I fancied the Autometer Phantom as they have big scale digits and a fat red pointer for the visually impared.
Thanks.

Stan,

I've had a couple of gauges in two different cars, and they both have been accurate. This is compared to what various rolling roads have said is the peak boost and holding boost.

My current gauge is an Autometer Ultra Lite, and the previous gauge was a Mocal.

Neither were expensive (about £40 each) It's really just down to what style you want!

Hope this helps
Andy

PS - Also have a look at Lee Christies website about fitting:

Andy - thanks for taking the trouble to reply - appreciated. I thought that most "reputable" gauges should be accurate, but you only find out by asking !
I think I'll get an "A" pillar pod and autometer.
Thanks again.

Stan

Take a look at this, its an accurate gauge, having compared it to rolling road gauges.

Cool

Stan,

You saw my P1 with Autometer guages at scoobysport on Feb 17 (glad to see you got the MOT sorted out). I'm happy with mine as they do match the speedo etc quite well. The STi guage looks good but is a little small.

Sorry I didn't get to take you out at donno, next time grab me and we'll go for a spin

Cheers Paul, will check site out.

Andrew - not to worry - something for me to look forward to next time !! After sorting my 2 buckled rims out I'll get the boost gauge fitted - at present, ignorance is not exactly bliss (reduced the boost to std - ish til I get it !)
