Question

I have heard that there is an STI gauge pod available that fits onto the steering column.
I am looking to fit it to my UK MY00 to house a white boost gauge, is this possible? Does anyone know where I can get one from?

Thumbs up

Yes they are available from Graham Goode cost with p&p £216.62 they are not that hard to fit takes about 1-1.5 hrs and I am no mechanic, the hardest part is getting the top of the indicator housing off, but they do look good.

Question

Is it possible to buy this part from Japan and have it shipped, or do we have to put up with GGRs prices? It seems to me that a normal white gauge won't light up in the correct fashion (at night it would be green background and black letters, whereas on my MY00 it is green letters and black background at night, black letters and white background at day). I was going to go for a Blitz, but if this is available at a sensible price...

Thanks for the responses on this.
I have been on to GGR and they do indeed stock the pukka Subaru column pod and white gauge (to match existing dials) for £210.
Having looked around for a while for gauges I have been led to believe that a mechanical boost gauge should be around the £40-60 mark, while an electrical one can easily be over £200. The GGR gauge is mechanical!! I think someone here is taking the pee. As Carl has said there must be some way of importing the pod & gauge from Japan (it is a recognised accessory after all) but I have no idea where to start.
Anyone got any advice?? Either that or I will have to go to GGR (but I won't tell her indoors!!)

I was looking into this a while back, i quite like the gauge as well. I was thinking of contacting a freindly importer of Jap cars to see if there was any way they could get hold of them, and bring them in with a car ? Dont know how feasible this is though.

I will try to find out if its available, but as its an STi option it may well not be available in the UK.

As a matter of interest, i checked the currency conversion from the STi site, and the gauge works out at 24000 yen (i think, if somebody can read Japanese and confirm i got the right idea) and that is £138.67 the HUD at 26000 works out to £150.23. But like i said if the numbers that are there are not currency figures these numbers are meaningless

I can't find the boost gauges on the taka kaira web site? Am I being thick or what?

Not only that, but I can't find the boost gauges in the Subaru Accessories brochure, although mine seems to be dated April 1999 despite only picking it up last week.

Have we ascertained that the one you can get from your friendly dealer is the same as the STi one?
