Default Boost gauge vs Digital display??

Ok problem here, I have an MRT heads up display hooked up to the MRT water spray controller. I had originally a LAMCO STi normal boost gauge which I removed to fit the digital display one. Now the guy who is doing the installation tells me that a digital boost gauge is useless as it doesn`t show peak (eg spike) boost??

Is this true?? Which one should I go for??

Many thanks

He's probably meaning that it's nigh on impossible to see and take in a spike with a digital gauge unless you are watching and concentrating on it all the time - a blur of rapidly changing numbers isn't the easiest thing to comprehend / mentally process

An analogue gauge will be easier to see a "blip" even though you might not be quick enough to see the peak - that's where electronic ones like Defis, HKS etc that have a Peak record function come in handy...

With an analogue gauge, you might see it move in your peripheral vision and then concentrate a bit more on it which might let you see the peak - a lot of ifs and buts but you get the idea... all while keeping you eyes on th road of course
