Question Bloody white dials !!!!!!

Okay ..... I'll set the scenario, I have had 2 separate subaru specialists try to fit my white dial to the rev counter , both failed (failed , meaning broke the rev counter).

I have just tried myself, using the 'burn the old needle off' technique .... put it back together, turn the ignition, at accesory stage the needle goes to 2,000, when I start the car it is just about 3,000, I revved up , and it worked correctly from there.

My question is, What can I do to make the needle start at 0 ? Or is the guage buggered ?

cheers in advance

Nate.

Remove needle, start car replace needle somewhere around where you think it should idle - 800rpm???

Thumbs up

IT NOW WORKS !!!!!!!!

Brun,

I used your idea mainly ....... As I described above on accesory swith (1st position), it was going to 2000 RPM on the guage....... I put the needle on just below the black needle stop and pushed it past the stop in the right direction, fired it up AND IT WORKS

Cheers matey

fuel and temperature guages are fine but the rev counter stays at 3000 and the speedo confuses the hell out of him, the old one used to read the mph on the small inside dial after being derectricted, but the new dial read mph on the large outside dial, does this make any difference?
