Hiya mate, i'm no expert and expect to be shot down in flames but i don't think you can take the airbag out of a momo steering wheel. It may fit straight on your car, but i think the airbag is part of the whole structure and i wouldn't fancy driving a car with a dodgy airbag in.
Why don't you buy a momo steering wheel from somewhere like demon tweeks and get a proper boss kit with it.
You could try contacting someone who posts on here under the name greasemonkey, he knows his Imprezas and will probably be more help

Not sure exactly what you mean here but no you cannot remove the airbag from a wheel with an airbag as it will look cack as the bag makes up part of the wheel surface.

But you can replace with a wheel without an airbag like many people have including myself. It will still pass an MOT it should not affect your insurance (dependant on company) and best of all it is simple to do.

There is only one type of the wheel you are talking about but there are other wheels available. which you will need the appropriate hub for. YHM in a moment. You would have mail if you had your email address there. Send me a mail as per profile and i will send a pic back.

I asked at a dealer if a '03 steering wheel would go on a MY00 - the answer was no.

...although I'm convinced there'll be someone who's done it.
