I wonder though ......
Do you think that perhaps because they are two different year models of dash and therefore totally different in shape on the centre section, that makes a difference (duh)

cant someone make those pods in a less tacky looking plastic. The 97+ ones are nice but the pre 97 ones look a bit cheap imho because of the nasty plastic finish.
ooh or in carbon
make a carbon one someone. Im sure people would pay more happily for ones that look better
Otherwise its a much needed product and about time someone made one
