on my MY99 gearstick the gator is not secured to the gearknob....Is this correct? If not is there a Nut missing? Noted the same as my brothers Scooby..but not the same as the P1 i was in the other day..thus the question now..

 

on mine i have a nardi gear **** with a recess at the bottom,the rubber gator streches over and sits in it keeping it from dropping down the stick.
think this is what you are on about.

No. The top of the gaiter should clip into a recess in the bottom of the gearknob.
