can I put a jap nardi steering wheel on my uk 97 turbo?

I have just aquired a nardi leather steering wheel of a wrx/sti.How easy is it to fit to a uk turbo model which has an air bag as standard and will the air bag light stay on permanantly if I change it, what are the implications of doing this? I also have the original boss if this helps.
