Any one got any ideas about the chrome sill that you can put around the gear stick console?

How much are they are can they easily be fitted yourself or do they need dealer fitting?

Subaru themselves do one for about £45, more of a satin finish and has Impreza written along the bottom.

I think you have to get the special catalogue, or it is probably on the Subaru web-site

Try www.nitosport.co.uk .. they do chrome and satin finishes, and they cater for all models. It comes with the leather gaitor, too

3 of us got the Subaru surround from our dealer for the MY 01/02 and paid £35 IIRC, it takes 15 minutes to fit yourself and looks the danglies,if you have the standard dash in the metal effect it does match rather well, i dont but it still looks good.

I like the look of the Subaru one with Impreza written on it. Any ideas where I can buy one of these online?

And how do they fit? Do you need tools?

Nick / Zippy

The Subaru surround looks neat, do you have to change the leather gaiter around the gear ****?

Nick, I recognise the gear **** from the picture you posted about the autostyle mats....I ordered the mats at the weekend. Thanks M8.

Ooops forgot to ask, what's the gear **** ??, it looks a bit more subtle than the usual aircraft style aluminium ones on offer.

The full title of the gearknob is RaceAir Leather Aluminium and they cost £50 from Halfords.I wasn't aware that Subaru sell this exact one????

As to fitting the surround,I've no idea as the dealer fitted mine FOC at the same time as my Prodrive quickshift.Zippy fitted his so maybe he'll see this and post......

Cheers

Nick

P.S: You still keep the original gaiter!!!

Subaru sell 'em now, though the "momo" logo has "subaru" written in it in small letters under "momo", and I bet there's somethinig to hold the gaiter up

asked the dealer if he would do it, and he said they were too busy Is it really as easy as some of you say?

looks great by the way, cant wait to get it in.

Momo ***** are a doddle to fit- use search facility for tips, & insulation tape really does work to hold the gaitor up Really it does.

My Dealer told me they spent an hour fitting one, which involved them cutting metal But then they also quoted me £72 for a aluminimum gaitor surround

I've just fitted the Momo **** to my car. Took five minutes, and was 35 quid from Halfords... Race Air Leather.

Will post a pic when I have a camera handy

I also have the Momo gearknob but after a few months the aluminium on top looks bad. Scratches etc. any suggestions how to revitalise it?

I have been trying to sort out buying the STi Aluminium surround round than the one with Impreza on it.

I have the surround (£56 inc bolts), I bought an STi console (£26) cause the dealer said I needed it but it's the same as my WRX one with 6 holes drilled in it. I am now struggling to get the frame that goes underneath the whole lot to hold it in place. They sell it as part of the kit for the Impreza one but don't seem to be able to call it up as a spare part on it's own. Awaiting info from IM now. Took 8 weeks to get the console from Japan!!!

I already have the MOMO ****, it's a doddle to fit. My tip would be to put the rubber bush on your stick and not inside the **** then push the **** on to meet the rubber bush. First time I lost the rubber right up in the ****!!!
