Unhappy

I had a set of Defi gauges fitted a couple of months ago and they worked fine. A couple of weeks ago they started to go through the set-up process whilst I was driving, as if the engine had been turned off/on. Then they decided to stop working completely. I have had a new Control Unit fitted but have the same problem. I have just checked the wiring with my trusty old meter and I get 12V on the white lamp wire and the orange switched ignition wire but the red wire is reading around 3-4V, is this my problem?

Si,

sounds like it !
I would say, you're getting a bad connection somewhere. might be the earth, or might be that +12v to the RED wire.
where have you taken the feed for it from? the stereo ?

as a 'fix' try wiring the red to the white wire & see if you get +12v then (& see if they work!). At-least you'll know it's something to do with the +12v conneciton to your red wire!

cheers
Steve

Steve,

Cheers I will try what you say tomorrow. I don't know where the feed was taken from as it was fitted by a garage who I trust, it is going in on Saturday for them to look at but it is always worth going in with as much info as possible.

Doesn't sound that good to me!

For the basic gauges, Boost, Oil Temp and Oil Pressure your lookint at approx £100 a gauge. £60 ish for the control unit and about another £80 or so for a pod.

I paid just under £400 for the three gauges, control unit and pod, all brand new.
