I own a 98 Impreza STi4 Type R Jap import which the previous owner has managed to **** the speedo up. Apparently according to the garage the speed sensor is sending the correct signals but the speedo is reading about 20mph slow which is a real pian in the rear. Now the maximum speed on the dial is only 110MPH which to me seems pretty low for a car of this make. I have to admit the dials seem to fit perfectly but dont seem to read right any advice Please help before my speedo is corrected by the flash of lightning often seen on clear nights and days alongside most non accident blackspot roads.

Many thanks in advance

The speedo is limited to 110 because Jap imports are limit to 112mph (limiter can easily be removed).

Are you sure the speedo is reading low as some of the de-limited imports speedo doesn't register anything untill you fit about 20mph?

Talking

Is it propotional?(sp)
So if yor doing 50 does it still read 30 or is the differance smaller? Maybe the previous owner had a speedo converter and dial kit fitted that went up to 180mph and only removered the Dial when he sold it.

Just an idea!!
