ok this is how i did mine
1 the material is alcantera availible from most fabric shops cost me around £17 a meter & i bought 4 meters but you could easily do it with 2
2 take door card off
3 i cut cloth to appox size leaving about 2 inches over, the actual cloth part of the door does'nt come apart as it is plastic welded to the rest of the door card .
4 now i used evo stick contact glue, spread a very thin layer of glue over the area that you want to recover allow it to dry for about 20 mins then spread a second coat of glue a bit thicker over the area again, then place the cloth on the panel and frimly press down on all area's. make sure you push the edges well in with a blunt round end. the glue will start to set straight away leave for approx 20 mins, then with a sharp stanley blade cut off the xsess with the blade held at an angle .
the whole job took about 2 hours max. if you need any help/advice just give me a call on 07810873868 . good luck!

Looks wonderful. I've been planning to do this to my GF8 as I've already redone the rear seats and have installed 2002 WRX front seats. It's turned out great so far.
I'm just hoping to find some good black fabric for use. Oh and I'm doing something a little special to my fabric before I install it. Embrodery!!!
Thanks - Jon

Re. the carbon fibre statement.
You can get c/f door cards but they ain't exactly cheap. I went looking for some ordinary replacements and stumbled over a website doing them. They were one piece carbon shells meant to reduce weight for rallying.
<gulp> found it. www.motordrive.com but they're £450!!!
Edited now I found the website....
Vindaloo.
