Wot a breakers yard... its not a Ford you know...
Seriously - any views on the Scoobyworld Autostyle car mats? as my existing mats supplied with the car need replacing as I was looking at the Autostyle as an option. Rog.

I got some Prodrive Car mats and there pi**ing me off !
They keep sliding towards the pedals, there is a hole on the bottom right in which the mat fits onto, but it needs locking down !
Is their an original part for this or am I gonna have to make one ??

in the saab 95, theres a pin on the floor onto which this hole locates, then a rubber grommit goes over the top.
I couldnt find this pin nor any trace of it.
Has anyone else?

Is it true that brand new WRX MY02 comes with no mats? I just had to stump up nearly 60 quid for a set when I picked mine up!!! I could have sworn in the brochure it came with mats.

Ed, you must negotiate them in! I made a similar mistake when negotiating for mine as it only came with one key fob and they threw me off the scent by saying don't worry mate we'll contact the previous owner and of course I forgot to say no key no deal! They gave me 10% off though when I eventually got round to ordering a spare...d'oh.

RE the sliding OEM mats on Classic shape.
I have this problem but my dealer said there is no lock to go on the locating 'pin' on the driver's mat because carpets were getting torn.
If they'd made them with two twist pins (like everyone else does) then we wouldn't have a problem.
I tried strong velcro strips, which lastest for about 3 days.
Anyone any novel solutions on the OEM mats ?

there should be a small flat piece of metal that bolts on to the seat, with a sort of racing bonnet pin on the end. I haven't got clue where you get these, have to try breakers yards or somewhere like that.

Tried dealer today for locking thingy for post.Best he could come up with was this :-
Which is like a giant plastic self tapping screw.30mm long x 10mm diameter. He said put it through hole in mat & screw into footwell carpet underneath.
I'm going to try a large penny washer(stainless) over the post on top of mat & a R-pin or split pin through the post to hold the washer in place on top of the mat. Will be more user friendly than the big screw thing when taking mats in & out for cleaning. IMHO

Do I have the only non slidy mats then? There are several little velcro tags sewn into the whipping round the edge on my car mats(like velcro care labels )
They seem to work quite well, even though they have made fluffy patches on the carpet...
They are OEM mats as well (MY96)

Thanks for the tip Scoobyjawa - mats on order. Their web site is really good with the variety of colours and trims etc. The navy Blue with Gold trim should be cool..
Concerning the location pin, MY00 has a single pin which is OK but would be better with a cap on the top, as it does slip over the top and down the well slightly on a weekly basis. OK (and best)if you give it a regular check though, as there have been a few nasty accidents with jammed mats!
