Advice required please, which gauges
#1
I have an MY97 and want to fit some Defi gauges. Because no three gauge pods are made for the MY97, I have a cunning plan for a possible way to fit two (like the column mounted GENOM kit but slightly different placing), so my questions are:
a) Which gauges will be most usefull and why (I suspect turbo boost and oil temp)?
b) Which gauges will flip around the most and look best (I suspect turbo boost and fuel pressure)?
Opinions wanted please.

The ones I would deffinatly get are Boost & Oil Temp, Oil temp lets you know when the turbo bearing is nice and warm and its safe to floor it :.
The other one Really is down to the individual, Im thinking of either Voltage (prob not) Exhaust Temp or Oil Pressure, Im leaning toweards exhaut temp as most people think this is importnat.

I dont know tbh,
I have always just let the car idle for about 30 secs to min after driving the last mile or so under 3k rpm to let the turbo cool down a bit. I'd get a turbo timer if one came along at a good price.

I think there is a nice Blitz one that provides some boost gauge functions too which is around £150 which I was thinking about but (as I have put in another thread) I am not sure about the compatability with the immobiliser and a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm. Any ideas on this?

I have turbo for obvious reasons, oil temp and oil pressure. You can set noisy alarm alerts on the defis so if you start to lose oil pressure then you may have a chance if things go wrong. Oil temperature is a must as it tell you when you can use the loud pedal and also set an alert if things start getting a bit warm. Once you have the control box in place then extra gauges are just daisy chained so adding another is fairly easy but obviously you need to add the sensors as well to drive the added gauge.
