Am I missing something here?? 52mm gauges surely means the diameter of the gauge housing, not the facia and bezel I cut all my hols to 52mm and they fit perfectly first time ...

Also, you'll need to have sufficient space between the holes to get the bezels in.

Edited to add 'Also...'

I have a SM Centre Pod.

I want to cut three holes for the 52mm gauges.

Does anybody know which size hole cutter I need and any guidelines in marking/cutting the holes?

Draw a square of the same width as the diameter you want to drill and draw lines across each diagonal. That's the centre point.

Did mine with a 50 mm hole saw to fit 52mm Defi's. Tiny bit of filing needed with a half-round file afterwards to get everything perfect.

Word of caution if you've not used a hole saw before - go very light with the pressure on the drill, use a low drill speed and make sure that someone's holding the pod down. Lots of teeth = lots of grip = SM pod doing a 180 on the workbench in my case. That'll learn me!
