Question

When I ordered my MY02, I went for the bucket seats, as the 02 I test drove had sports seats, and to be honest, I wasn't that impressed.. however.. Now, whenever I'm looking at Scoobs, they always seem to have gone for the sports seats, and I haven't seen any with the bucket seats... I know it comes down to personal preference.

Have I made a big mistake, and should I try and change my option to the sports seats if it's not too late ?

Cheers

Im pretty sure mine are sports in my MY02 WRX and I think they are better than the ones in my old STI, didnt take one out with the bucket seats so cant comment.

I think you may have got that the wrong way round mate????
Most people that I know of go for the bucket seats and not the sports seats!!!!

A good decision I must admit!!!

So, sports seats have air bags and buckets don't. Mine (01 WRX) are buckets and are brilliant.

Here you go.Think the fourth pic or so down shows you the seats. I have better ones of the seats on my home PC so drop me a mail if you want em emailing?

You will not regret ordering the bucket seats!!!

Are the sports seats the ones with the headrest? Similar to the old "farmer Gyles" seats I used to have in my MY96. If so, stick with the buckets, that's what I've got in my MY01 (I think, well, they don't have a headrest) and they are superb seats.

I wouldn't buy another scooby without bucket seats, it took me ages to find a decent second hand set for the MY96.

Stick with the buckets, second best decision you can make when buying a bug eye, second only to having Morrettes or Prodrive headlights fitted

Nick - where did you get your STI fog light covers from, I really want a set of these, seem that at TSL for about £200.00 and I think that's painted (only in Blue or Blue/Black). Are they easy to fit or do you have to drill holes in the bumper - don't really fancy doing that myself.

Cheers

Chris

Edited as I can't spell

Chris,
I got em from UP Auto and they were £165 plus the dreaded which is slightly cheaper than TSL.As you say, they're only available in WR Blue or Black so you need to get em sprayed if your car ain't one of those two colours.Might be worthwhile looking at the replica ones as they need painting anyway and are a fraction of the STi ones (In my opinion, the replicas aren't as good )

Good luck

Nick

P.S: They are dead easy to fit - You simply remove the bottom corner bolt out of each foglamp (Foglamp stays on the car as it's still secured) and then insert the bracket that comes with the foglamps into the hole and re-insert the foglamp bolt to secure it.Then push the STi cover on and secure it with a small screw that comes with the STi cover.DEAD EASY (HONEST!!)

Cheers Nick

Haven't heard of UP Auto before, are they any good, obviously everyone raves about TSL but I'll give most companies a try.

Had a look on their website and price has come down to £155 plus VAT which isn't bad.

My car is Blue/Black Mica but presume this is the same as the Black mentioned on the website?

Thanks again.

Yes Chris,blue/black mica is black like they mention on their website.I've used UP Auto in the past and they offer a very good service and are always polite on the phone.I usually speak to a guy called Tony if that helps!!!!
