has anyone changed the silver centre console surround to the carbon effect one on a new shape Imreza? My dealer says he's seen one before and it looks awful.

I have the carbon panels on mine and IMHO they look far better
than the standard silver ones.

It's not only the center panel but you also get ones for the
instrument surround, air vents and inside door handles.

I'm planning to take some pics some time but just haven't gotten
around actually doing it yet.

Just took a couple. Turned out to be pretty crappy because
had to use flash but you'll get the idea how the things look
like.

thanks Jah, the carbon effect looks great. How much did you pay for the centre and the bit around the window control?

I think you cannot buy them separately, it's a package of
- Centre console
- Cup holder
- Centre air vent surround
- Side air vent surrounds
- Instrument surround
- Door handle bits (all 4 doors)

Price here in Netherlands is EUR 325 excluding VAT. I guess that
works out to be about 210 pounds. So yes, it's pretty expensive
plastic but still nothing in the price of a new car...

Nitosport seems to do carbon effect panels for both new and
classic shape. Looks pretty pricey as well though. See their
website at
http://www.nitosport.co.uk/

(Edited because I can't remember how to make the link work)
