Default Steering wheel compatibility for classic

Hi,

Just recently acquired a turbo 2000 wagon and the steering wheel looks worse for wear. I'm actively looking for a replacement and wondered if a bug eye would fit? Would the airbag work, as I'd want it to.

Many thanks

I tried to replace a v1/2 classic with a v5 classic, both gc8 wheel. The spine and all are identical however the airbag connections are different. I have a turbo 2000steering wheel in very good condition for sale as it happens lol.
