Default How to get to cigarette lighter wiring?

I've got a uk 2001 wrx and the in-line fuse to the cigarette lighter has been blown now for some time.
Can you access the wires by removing the center consul, in-between the front seats. If so how do you remove the front part, as far as i have tried the rear is held by a nut in the armrest box but I'm not sure how the front section is released.

Any help would be appreciated.

On a classic, there are two bolts, one either side, nearer the front, you can see them after removing the gear lever surround and the bit behind it, which pulls up once the two screws holding it to the glove box are removed.

Can you not just prise the cig lighter out though?

you sure its got an inline fuse?? My fuses were always behind the pull out cubby under the steering wheel and that where the cigarette lighter fuse was.

On many, there's an extra inline fuse.

No inline fuse on my classic but found the problem to be the fuseable link at the back of the lighter socket which usually blows when using an electric 12v tyre pump(compressor) and got to it by taking the radio out.
