Boost Gauge for STI7 Type UK
#1
David,
Not in an Sti but same fitting nonetheless (MY01)
One of the dash, side view (the gauges go where the clock is)
One of the gauges, these are exactly the same as the STi brochure ones, with the only difference being the STi logos on the offical ones. The pod and gauges are all made by Defi.
Hope that this helps, let me know if you need any more info.
Cheers,
Simon
Edited to get the piccies the right way round, doh!

David,
I watched Nito (of Nitosport) putting this in for me. Basically it involves replacing a couple of plugs on your engine with the relevant gauge sensors. They measure oil temp from one of the blanking studs in the block, oil pressure, replaces the standard oil pressure warning plug and an in line boost gauge off your turbo.
Having seen what is involved, particularly the fiddly getting the dash bits on and off and threading all the gubbins through the bulkhead, I'd strongly reccommend that you get someone professional to do it. If you do go for it you'll need some pretty special tools.
If you want to get the same gauges and pod as shown here, give Nitosport a call. they fitted mine in about 2hours (and believe me it needs 2 hours!) you can get hold of Nito through his website www.nitosport.com, or 01276 475878
Alternatively you could talk to your local dealer, but you'll probably find that Nitosport is a lot cheaper, and also is a bit more specialised in doing this.
The kit consists of the three gauges, the control unit, which I have mounted in the ashstray apeture, this unit controls all three gauges and lets you program where the warning light thresholds are, gives you a readout of peak values on each of the gauges and also allows you to record 45 second periods and play them back afterwards, very cool If you look closely through the steering wheel spokes in the first pic you can see the unit (about the size of a cigarette pack.)
Anyway if you are down South, you are more than welcome to have a look first hand.
Cheers,
Simon
BTW, I realise that the above sounds a bit like an ad, I'm not connected with them, just VERY pleased with the service and end result.

I would like to fit a boost guage to my new car
Has any one already done it - and if so:-
Which type and where can you get it
Is it easy to fit or do you need an expert
Does it work OK
Where is it mounted

Scooby Regular
Got one in both our STi7's, the Subaru LaMco one, fits in a neat little pod to the top left side of the steering column housing, fitted them myself in about 30 mins each, works well. About £125 each IIRC.
