Are insurance companies taking advantage
of change of circumstances?
Over the last 3 years I have:
Changed my car to a lower insurance group. My insurance went up (£60 inc. £25 admin fee) for the remaining 3 months. Every new quote from competitors was cheaper.
Changed address to a much lower risk postcode . Had 6 month left - insurance went up by £45 (inc. £20 admin fee). Every new quote from competitors was cheaper.
Just changed occupation from a run of the mill job to one of high social responsibility that is renowned for bring about lower premiums. 5 months left and I had to pay £36 (no admin fee). Every new quote is cheaper.
What am I to conclude from this? They charge more because they know you want to complete the year to get your NCB?
