Hi Pramas,

It's always nice to get a good deal and £79 buys a tank or so of fuel, which is a nice saving.

Not the best news in the world for the Underwriter though, as using them to compete against themselves isn't going to make them feel all warm and fluffy inside

The conditions of a preferentially rated product will require the respective broker to establish who you're currently Insured with before offering terms and certainly before putting you on cover (which is one of the reasons why you will usually be asked your current Insurer or who you have been quoted by).

But that's just the mechanics of the industry and not something for you to worry about, it's more of an issue for A-Plan, Keith Michaels and the audit team of the Underwriter involved.

Markerstudy, A-plan did a quote and it turned out they had went through the same company, not sure how it works but iam guessing all specilist brokers use a similar set of underwritters
Anyways like said i got a good deal and would have no issues dealing with Keith Micheals again in the future

Markerstudy are a good insurer, so you've done well to get a good policy at a cheaper price.

Simply not the case, we've sent the renewal price out at the rate the insurers offered to us

no drama in this thread tbh, both good companys like i said, other than greenlight trying to create somthing iam guessing by quoting the same underwritter thing, not even sure how that is relevant to the consumer and since they didnt even ask for the underwriter bears no relevance

fawor seems to have had a few digs about us, i assume we've not quoted him in the past, or have quoted him too much.... so he feels the need to give us negative comments.

When quoting we ask who the insurers are that we are up against, as in the past we've quoted cheaper with the same company and it's caused issues behind the scenes, so we are very careful these days.

Not sure if other brokers do the same though.

Hi Moley,

We've encountered similar situations.

An Insurer's open market products are fine to be quoted, but where it's the kind of preferentially rated specialised schemes that you and I use there will always be a requirement to establish the current Insurer with a view to not competing against themselves.

Our understanding is they're supposed to, as an Underwriter would never look to compete against themselves.

Other than this one, hope all's well with you mate.

Kind regards

Take a breath
Yes you quoted me before with the same result-bigger price from the same company.
That's why I wrote again above.
Probably few from scoobynet could write opposite story,no negative comment just a little play
