Tbh that seems quite good.

A lot of the cheaper companies wont take on people under 25 with modded cars.

Why don't you just drive it back, surely you would be itching to get in it? I'm guessing it will be insured by you on the day your pick it up anyway, otherwise without insurance on the car your dad won't be insured on it (unless he has some form of motor trade insurance).

But as for the quote, it seems pretty good for your age and with the mod declared.

What were you driving before?

Have you tried all of the main companies directly, not just on comparison sites? It never hurts trying everyone you can for a quote! At your age, there can be a big difference on what companies quote you, so you might come across one that under cuts someone by quite a bit - and make sure you haggle with other companies on the phone once you've got a decent quote!

I'm in the same situation as you (22, 4yncd, bugeye 2002)....although mine is standard I went to both Admiral and Elephant, played them against one another as they are the same company essentially. £650 for me, although it is standard. BH21 postcode

Rang admiral they said they will only match it and i can choose either them or elephant as there the same company the wont fight each other, so i think ill just have it with admiral. Might be postcode or something although where i am its not like the bronx haha.

I don't think Keith Michaels will quote you as you're under 25 and haven't got the relevant performance car experience : thumb:

I don't know how much difference your modifications make but it might help that I've been with Admiral 5 years.... perhaps they give decent renewals

I disagree. Their renewal quote was double what I ended up paying with them - multiple places offered it much cheaper - and I've been with them 4 years!

I was happy with Admiral's quote for me on MY98 2000. 21, 3 years NCB, extra injury cover, £1370. Wheels, "chip" & exhaust declared.

Im 20, 3 yrs NCB. With my Mazda 6 Estate 143 ps (RCIB) as a main car and Dad insured as a main driver on my 93 Import, it is £700 a year for me, with mods (REIS). Waiting till I'm 21 and have 4 yrs NCB and moving to co op. Will get a policy where I can drive anyones car on their say so and then drive my scooby with it only being insured on Dad. That way I can also drive his other cars! Fool proof

Obviously driving the Mazda more than the other cars but would be nice to drive my subaru, every now and again, without having to pay more than necessary
