Default WRX/WRX-S/Prodrive Insurance

I'm considering getting an Impreza hatch and rather fancy a WRX kitted out with PPP and a set of the Prodrive alloys. Basically a WRX-S without all the spoilers.
Checking insurance quotes gives a very reasonable level for a WRX; a bump of about 15% for a WRX-S; BUT...... if I want a Prodrive kitted WRX it costs nearly 3 times as much as a standard WRX?

Should I just buy a WRX-S and remove the spoilers or is there a way around this madness!
It seems the WRX-Ss are actually registered as such so I can't just tell the insurer I have a WRX-S.......... despite the fact that one main dealer is trying to sell such a car as a WRX-S.
