Default Insurance quotes, Please help

Hi Guys

Ive just sold my Renault 5 GT Turbo and would like to upgrade to an Impreza Turbo 2000 or similar.

Ive looked into insurance and ive been quoted really high.
The cheapest ive found is £780! im 31, no crashes in the past 5 years, i got 3 points on my licence three and a half years ago, so i think they dont count anymore. I dont live in a bad area, have 7 years no claims, the car is only a weekend car so its not for commuting and its going be in a locked garage.

Can anyone suggest any good insurance companies please?
Im was looking to get it to around £600

Thanks

Jay

Its just too much for me to be able to round up in one year. Im getting a loan for the car so i cant afford to pay monthly on my inurance, id pay it all in one go, from money ived saved.
I fairly sure i can come up with 600 give or take, but nearly 800 is out of my reach

Don't take this the wrong way, but CH66 isn't a good postcode.

Indeed, £780 in that postcode is a competitive quotation. Imprezas are incredibly high risk cars for insurers, the price you pay for the insurance reflects the risk presented to the insurer.

Different insurers use different guides, so don't read too much into that link.

NN11 postcode seems to be good. CF44 is good aswell, although CF43 would be higher.

(That's with 2 of the 30+ insurers we use.... others could be different. I just had the postcode guide for those 2 insurers to hand)

Hi Matey. Welcome. Insurance seems to be on the up anyway. Ellesmere Port way will always be high I live in CH42 which is classed at Birkenhead but it is in Prenton or at a push Tranmere but never Birkenhead and my insurance is a Grand with 9yrs NCB no accidents and 3 points for CU80. I don't have a driveway unfortunately so this pushes it up. My next house will have a garage
