Snap. Im 29, licence for 10 years, 6 years no claims and got no quote lower than £1800. I paid £750 last year. It took me around 6 hours of searching to get it down to £844. I first tried compare the market who gave me nothing below the £1800. Then tried go compare and got it down to £1100. I then took the top 5 quotes from there and went direct to the companies themselves. My second lowest quote was £1200 with Endsleigh so went on their website and it went down to £844, so give that method a try.

Also you if you have mods you can try running through without declaring them. That gave me lower quotes. When I went to the companies with that quote and then said "oh I would like to add x,y and z" it sometimes worked out cheaper than if I declared them all upfront. It takes a long time but to get my quote to less than half it was worth it.

If you've had a claim in the last 12 months quite a few companies won't quote.

Is that so you have a time out? My wife is doing her test in a few months. I cant get her insured for around 3 years after, so when she's nicely out of practice, forgotten all that she was taught and a far bigger danger to everyone she can finally get low enough insurance to be on the road.
