Default Track only insurance

Hi guy's

This may seem like a daft question. . but hey worth a bash

Isit possible to have just track day insurance on a mot'd and taxed scooby?..without the normal car insurance...aslong as it's trailerd to and from the venue?.

im 19 soon to be 20..would this affect it?. .

Thanks

Tom

Why tax/MOT it either ?

Consider the financial implications should you crash either to or from the event. I bet the trailor contents wont be covered to the replacement value a road legal car would be I could be wrong If its a cheap car to take a risk with why bother with insurance at all ?

Because he might crash into a Veyron driven by Carlos Slim killing him instantly, hit the armco and rebound into the track only to be hit by a Ferrari FXX being driven by Bil Gates causing him to be a paraplegic.

Just a guess but he might not be able to afford the payout for that one

Wouldn't be covered to my knowledge Chris

As far as I know this is typical...

Significant and Unusual Exclusions / Limitations:

Liability to other participants, to any third parties or to passengers or any property damage.
You sign track indemnity to participate so all you are doing is covering your **** subject to is financial value being worth covering

one must question the benefit of track day insurance at all then.... sure I'd like any damage to my car covered but I sure as hell don't want to write off Prince Charles' Aston without being covered

You just have to hope he has his own insurance tis the reason lots of people have second thoughts about track days. It's never concerned me about my own ability to stay straight but other nuts jobs around you ruining your day.

Im guessing not as it hasnt been mentioned but I thought that many tracks have a 3rd party insurance, covered with the cost of the track day itself. I was under the impression that tracks in the UK were obliged to do this, it was just comprehensive you werent covered for.

Unfortunately if you don't have track insurance and someone hits you then tough, you can't make a claim.

If you do have track cover and someone hit you then you'll have to claim off your own policy.

..... just to add that's why i always take out track insurance.

I'm confident with my own driving on track, but if someone lost control (or was driving like a prat) and hit me i'd be screwed if i didn't have my own cover.
