Default Wrong insurance

My m8 has a honda civic and its a 2L 5door, he got pulled over by the police the over day for speeding only 5mph over, and they checked the car details. And found out that his insurance says its a 1.6L. This was an accident when he insured it. Hes crapping himself now cos he think he can get done, whats the worse thing that could happen to him.

I said to him once i got pulled over and it came up i had no insurance, they let me off, what happened is the insurance had cocked up the reg plate by one number. Nothing happened over it.

I would think its up to the insurance company to decide IF they will accept it as error and continue cover.

It is down to the customer to check they are properly insured, eg correct reg number, car model, engine CC etc..
