Insurance break, but not loosing saved up NCB
Hi guys,
This is a general insurance question...
Right so you've got a few years NCB and for whatever reason you are on an insurance break for what could be 5yrs or so...
As far as I know, you can go without insurance for 2yrs without loosing the bonus you've already clocked up.
Now my question is, after that 2yrs you take out a premium inorder to hold on to your NCB. Do you need to stick with it a full year, or can you just wait a month or two then cancel and be free to go insurance free for another 2yrs?
Thanks
Alex

well im lead to believe that if you hold any insurance for any period of time then that company will who have had you on cover need to provide proof of your ncd. so i think if that works and you can get them to issue the proof then that wont be a problem.
however
my company have just issued a notiofication saying that unlessa ph has a full years insurance . he/she is to go back to previous provider to get proof again.
so i think you will find its down to the companines.

I didnt have insurance for 6 weeks, started another policy for 6 days and cancelled it and got proof of no claims from the company i had insurance from for 6 days. After all its the last company you have had a policy with that proves u have the no claims bonus and havent made a claim/lost any when you have had a policy with them.
