Hello,

I’m trying to get insurance on a MY98 STI, No Mods, 4ys no claims, SW15, 29 years old, no points, garaged etc.

Tescos = 2400
Privilege = 1600
Adrian Flux 1472

They all want a tracker as well!

Can I expect to get better than this? If so, does anybody have any numbers?

Regards,

Rob

As a 26 year old female with 7 years no claims and an MY97 turbo I was expecting not too bad prices. However am looking at roung £1000 at the moment, so perhaps yours will be a bit more???

Best price and service by far so far is Bell Direct. OK with the mods I have and very helpful. Also protect no claims as no extra cost.

Keep searching they are joke quotes!! I've only been insured in my name for 1 year through citroen insurance and they gave me the equivelant of a 6 year NCD. I'm 23 and my quote for a MY99 turbo was £900!!! Hence the reason the Saxo must go!!

Citroen Insurance (underwritten by Privilage) I've questioned about 5 members of staff and a supervisor to be sure that I do have Full NCD and protected (cost £80 extra but worth it IMHO) and they all confirmed it. They also confirmed that despite being officially called 'Citroen Insurance' I can change the car no probs. I'd say if your young with no no-claims built up then buy and VTS or R for a year (great fun anyway) and then shift up to pretty much any car you want - that's what I'm doing!! A year ago I got quotes for the scooby before I bought the VTS and they were £2500 so buying the VTS saved me £1500 for the 'free year' and brought my scooby quote down by £1600 in one year! Cool, huh!

I would love to be getting those quotes, I'll be paying substantially more in a week or so.

The insurance game is a Mad one to play..
I've been looking around recently for a quote on a new WRX STI (European Import), I'm 29, the car will be on the road and I've got full no claims. With a Cat 1 alarm and Tracker, the cheapest at the moment is GreenLight (0870 7535455) who came in at a reasonable £921.00. Still waiting for others to come back to me with their prices.
Good Luck.......

Thumbs up

Defnitely try Keith Michaels (0870 845 8888/020 8643 6006). Just renewed my insurance with them today for £1750 with the following details:-

MY93 WRX, 33 yrs old, 3yrs NCB, No points/accidents, SWxx postcode (worse than yours!!!), parked on road (with wheel clamp taken into account), cat 1 alarm/immob, no tracker reqd, peformance exhaust, 17" alloys.

Last year, and this year, they were cheaper by several hundred on the next nearest quote.
