Sorry. They insured mine last November so must have changed their policy since then. Barclays quoted me. Footman James (broker nr Brum) could get me a qoute and so could Rum at Schofileds. All worth a shout.

Try direct line too, think they do imports if not then Schofields are probably your best bet.

Can't recommend anyone directly, but try buying 'Japanese Performance' magazine - available in WHS. Has a few adverts in for import insurance...

Keith Micheals are worth a try...

My insurance is with them:

94 WRX Auto
30 years old
7 years NCD
Link ECU/Exhaust/Wheels/Chargecooler
(inc girlfriend 35 years old)

£1020 protected.

Thanks

Gavin

Nice one Gavin,

That's brought it down to £950

just waiting for schofields and Adrian flux to get back to me.

anybody who's got an unmodified import with tracker and garaged,
schofields gave me £860, but they're having to refer the exhaust mod to the underwriter to find out how much it adds.

edited to say schofields came back with £898-50 with mods. so they're now my best quote.

I paid 850 with Bell Direct for an imported wrx sti type r, with 26 year old girlfriend on there too. Came DOWN by 200 last year (renewed in January). I've got full ncd, no accidents, claims etc, but also no tracker or garage (just a cat 1 and a driveway). No-one else got close to them. Probably worth a try - I think they're www.belldirect.co.uk

p.s. I'm 30

Thanks to everyone for their help.

I've now taken out my policy with Schofields,

but I'd just like to say how impressed I was with both Schofields and Keith Micheals. Apart from them giving me the best prices, they both came across as knowledgeable professionals with a genuine enthusiasm for the cars they insure.

Next time these two companies will be top of my call list.
