FAO: any Insurance experts on here
When will Impreza Turbos fall under the remit of Classic Car insurance? As all "Classic" Imprezas are now at least 10 years old (and some over 15 years old), I would have expected them to now be eligible for much cheaper, limited mileage, agreed value insurance (admittedly without a transferable no-claims discount).
As mine is my second car and garaged, I would gladly agree to a limited mileage of max 3000 miles per year at a professionally agreed valuation for my car. There are much more valuable and powerful 10 year-old plus cars from other marques out there whose owners are paying a fraction of what many Impreza Turbo owners are having to fork out.
If there are any classic car insurers out there who will cover an Impreza Turbo on the above terms, then please post up their names here.

Normally around 20 years before it would qualify for classic insurance. All depends on whether insurance companies will accept them. Some other performance cars still don't qualify for classic insurance and the are 20+ years old.
Can still do limited mileage etc on Scoobies though. And some insurers will drop their prices based on length of ownership level of mods etc etc... so all is not lost.
Hope this helps,

Thanks for the reply Chris, but which performance cars that are 20+ years old do not qualify for classic insurance then? My family and I have owned several performance cars in the 10 - 20 and 20 - 30 year old categories over the years and ALL of them have always been insured on classic policies.

From what I remember it used to be difficult to get cosworths on classic policies especially when modded, unless you went through the rs owners club, but think they are accepted by most classic insurers now.

The price your renewal will be will mean you won't need a classic policy to save money
