Never really worth while doing tpft, you just lose out, and tbh that is a good price for your age and experience, but really you need a couple of years under your belt and some more ncb (even then it will still be a little expensive ) plus the area you live in, so either go for that (its actually easier to pay it all in one go so you dont have to worry about any money until next year) or try a few of the speciallists (but it will still be very high).

Try eCar Insurance - Welcome to eCar Insurance
When I was 22 and had only been driving 9 months, they insured me on a 99 UK turbo for £1750 fully comp. Totally legit and in my own name with no other drivers.
Everyone else wanted around £3,000+

thanks for the replys i tried ecar and they couldnt quote me because of my age. if i could just get it under £2000 i think id get a turbo2000 but if not i think i might wait untill i get my 2nd yrs ncb. insurance sucks for young drivers! then again i supose its our own fault for so many of us driving like idiots and crashing! thanks, dan.

£2000 is a good price on insurance for a 10 year old car?
I just don't understand why you would pay so much, I wouldn't bother wasting my money and buy a different car. I waited until I was 21 before buying my first quickish car, a Civic Type R, even then I resented paying £900 insurance.
Good luck in your search!

When i've shopped around for insurance, i found that these compare insurance websites never worked porperly! Its a pain in the **** but your better off going to each insurance website and entering your details, you might even get a better deal that way!

I'm twenty and have a a MY00 turbo2000, shopped around for weeks for an insurance qoute but couldn't get one under £4,000 for me as the main driver, i pay £2,600 as a named driver so i'd say £2,200 was a good price.

Keith Michaels - god send... Peugeot 205 GTi (group 14 - 1.9 model naturally), 2 years NCB, 24... £470 fully comp all mods declared, covered
(and the car's more fun to drive than my old Scoob - hate saying that).

You should be able to do better than that with 4 years NCB if I was 22 with 9 months TOTAL driving experience and got it for £1750, then £1250 the following year @ 23 and 1 year NCB with 2 non fault accident within 4 days of one another

I'm called Andy
Keith Michaels is the insurers in general, not one guy The fella you want is a guy called Gary Moulson who works for Keith Michaels.
I was insured with Ecar, who insure over 21 and upto group 17 cars I believe. I just happed to meet their requirements at the right time, otherwise I wouldn't have owned my third scoob.
