Default Loss of no claims discount

I was wondering if someone would be able to answer this quick question?

My current insurance ran out with A-Plan on Monday. I didn't renew the plan because I've only just sold my car and haven't managed to find a replacement yet.

Have I got a set period of time to renew my insuarnce before I lose my no claims? I've currently got 8 years and obviously don't want to lose it...

Thanks

2 years as I recall. Ask A-Plan to send you a proof of NCD to keep until the next policy starts..
