Thumbs down Keith Michael's bad experience!!

I know a lot of people rave about this ins company on SNET but I've had a bad dealing with them and I'll never be troubling them again!!

I rang them recently for a renewal quote on my WRX. Nothing complicated, just a basic quote. It started badly when the man every one raves about, Gary Moulson was too busy to talk to me. That's fair enough, he must be a busy man. I was served by some other guy who said he'd call me back within 3 days ( FFS it takes other ins companies 10 minutes!!!)

3-4 days gone and no reply. I called them back and I surprisingly got through to Gary Moulson. Unfortunately it appears I was too late as someone else started the quote he could not help me. I was transferred to the guy who was dealing with the original quote and got his voicemail. I left a message and again I've heard nothing in nearly a week.

**** it I'm not chasing them for 2 weeks for their business!!

I know a lot of people will be delighted with KM's service and will no doubt reply to this thread telling me so but I just wanted to get it off my chest as I thought it was a disgrace!!

Rant over, sorry to come across as a miserable sod. I generally don't complain on forums but I wanted to share my experience.

Cheers,

Nathan

Yeah not the best in getting back, you ring and say either ring back in ten minutes or they'll ring you back. But never got a reply back. I am using them though, as after a few phones finally got through.

I think Gary is the only decent one there.
I don't blame you though. I don't think I would bother if they treated me like that.

I only ever deal with gary there and for good reason! all the others are morons! recently my bank decided that my account shouldnt have direct debits on it as its been changed to a savings only account sometime ago apparantly? anyway the direct debits were refused, I had a polite ish call from someone there and a payment was made over the phone and after I explained what had happened a promise of a new DD mandate was made, but all I got was a cancellation letter sent by recorded delivery. a pm to gary and it was all sorted (I hope) I said as much to gary in the week that basically he is the only competant person in the whole of the office! he didnt comment.

Sorry to hear what has happened.

Unfortunately it is our company policy that if someone has quoted or insured you in the past you have to speak to them for future quotes.

I'm not saying i agree with it, but i have to play by the rules.

Pm me your name and postcode and i will see who should have been ringing you back, but looks like the damage has already been done on this occasion.

It took about 4 years to get a quote from Gary as he was always on the phone or busy and never got a call back. Got through this year and managed to save £150 quid on my renewal.

I've always dealt with John Roberts. He's been really helpful - he even got Privilege to give up my NCB when they wouldn't give it to me over some bullwinkle related to a claim they stitched me up on.

Highly recommended.

Of course.
If people in our office aren't pulling their weight i like to know who it is, as they're the first to jump on my back if someone phones to complain i haven't got back to them.

Unfortunately i am not able to get back to everyone who leaves a message, but if you do ask for a callback and don't get one please don't take it personally, i am doing what i can to get back to as many people as possible.

BTW - car was looking good last night Pete. Saw the car in Thurrock Services after the tunnel run, but went for a cup of tea and you'd gone by the time i came back out. Will see you on the 20th November though for that passenger lap(s)

I would keep quiet about that % because
a) your boss might not be happy
b) any prospective punters must wonder why they cant get hold of you

Nathan, don't feel bad about having a moan up. It's good to hear these issues.

I wrote to Gary enclosing my full list of mods, for the purpose of a an insurance quote.
I sent it 6 months ago and have never received a reply.

Seeing this post reminds me actually I need to phone them up........... I am still waiting for a refund for a policy that I cancelled with Gary nearly 2 months ago!!

I still have my scoob insured through them (car on cancelled policy was a run about while I was finding the scoob), although Gary was a hard man to get hold of, left numerous messages on phone, tried PM's on here as well as e-mails but never got any replies.

On the plus side once I got hold of him he knew his stuff and sorted everything quickly.

He also gave me the cheapest quote but it has crossed my mind the cheapest isn't always the best way to go. Would be nice to be able to get hold of someone when needed. Hopefully I will never need to, but I would hope they are somewhat more easy to deal with if I ever had to make a claim, I know other larger insurance companies are sometimes more expensive but you can speak with someone within minutes, seven days a week.

Can I just observe that the OP was let down by a. n. other, not Gary himself or the whole company.

Gary is hard to get hold of, but I'd rather insure with someone who knows what they're on about.

Not really a dig but i requested a quote online some three months ago and never received anything back. With only a week left before my renewal was due so i had no choice to stay with my old insurer. Will try KM next year though.

Gary doesnt deal with online quotes.

To get the best deal, you HAVE to ring him up. I dont know how I've done it but every time I ring Gary, he answers and gets me sorted in the minimum amount of time, fuss and cost.
