Have been quoted by Privilege £124 extra for a WR Sport back box on my MY01,does this sound reasonable or am i being tight.

Sounds quite a lot really - the Prodrive isn't that loud and doesn't really give the performance enhancement of say a ScoobySport or Magnex as it is more restrictive.

Does volume have anything to do with performance? Being restricted does not always relate to volume either as far as I know.

Please let me know if it does as I will drill some extra holes in the coffee can I am using.

Does sound like a lot to add onto a premium when you consider what percentage of the purchase price for the backbox it is.

I think it's naff. I was allowed my exhaust on my Privilege policy with no extra premium. Policy states that I have non-standard exhaust up to 10% increase in bhp.

Don't know why they are charging you so much

One thinks i will be re-calling privilege for a re-quote,i must admit the 'GIRL, on the phone didnt even no what a Subaru Impreza was , it took 15 minutes on hold for her to come back to me with the £124 quote.I had an idea this was an over inflated price.

Thanks for the replys

Let us know how you get on. I was lucky and got a young lad who knew his Imprezas, both UK and imports. Hope you get someone better next time

Steve

I have just got off the phone to some decent, knew what he was talking about bloke, who has confirmed that there will be no increase in my premium whatsoever and that the girl was obviously talking b**locks. It was worth the call.

Nice one Glad you got it sorted. Shame you got the other person in the first place. Almost makes you think you should ring up the same insurance company a number of times just to see what different quotes you get.

Write them all down with a name and take the best one

Enjoy your exhaust mate

I just insured with Privilage a couple hours ago. They charged me an extra £200 for PE ECU (300+hp), exhaust, blow off valve, air cleaner, wheels and air filter plus a few other bits and bobs on an STi2. So yes. £120 for an exhaust wass taking the pi55.

Careful who I upset, eh eh eh calm down calm down. It just didn't seem that expensive to me Zippy, you'd think that as a highly paid star of rainbow you've have the cash to flash. Perhaps you are just a dustman now that Rod, Jane and Freddy have left the scene?

I think with your head up YOUR BIG BOY EXHAUST you may have mis-read the original thread,it wasnt £124 for a new exhaust it was just for putting it down as an upgrade on my policy.
And money is never a problem with me (Royalties) its just i won't be taken for a ride by the Vulture insurance company.

lol
