Question on estimated milage
It seems most insurance companies now days use your estimted annual mileage to set your premium, Is this milage figure binding I wonder ? For example if my policy says estimated milage 10,000 miles and I do 10,500, am I not insured for the last 500 . Just a question thats crossed my mind a few times , any experts out there know the answer ?

I have pondered this myself. As a sceptic i would say if you have a smash they will ask for the MOT certificate whhich has your mileage on. If it is clearly a lot more than your estimate from when it was done then they might reduce the claim or something but i think it is a difficult one to make stick.
Some ask for the current miles on the car but not many.
