Default Insurance for 19 yr old

I've had the car a year now (1996 sti) and last year i was insured with zenith through quoteline direct...at a price of £3600....so iv just got my renewal through and its gone to £3999....even though iv got another years no claims (2 now) i rang them up and they said that zenith have now decided they wont insure anyone under 21 on that car
does anyone know a better place to go??
thanks

1. Insurance does not necessarily go down with more no claims, it also has to do with the ammount of cars/accidents/thefts of that type of vehicle in your area.
2. Try some of the specillist insurance co's for young drivers, should be better than 3999 but your still going to get stung, just spend a day calling around.
3. You were pretty lucky to get insured on an STi anyway most companies wont insure you under 25!

Good hunting

Tony

I just cant understand why people would want to spend well over 3k on insurance. I know scoobies are great, but surley you should get a hot hatch of some sort for the first 2-3 years and build ur ncb up.

As said the insurance nearly out pays the cars value........Money to burn or what, even worse with the tax/petrol/servicing, to me its madness.
