elephant and new alloys

Hi,
I recently switched my insurance to Elephant.co.uk. They offered the best rate I could find (£530). I have a standard UK turbo MY00, full NCB, over 30 etc.
However, at the weekend I bought some new alloys (MY01 gold 17s). I sent elephant an email to inform them of the change and see if I would have to pay an additional premium. They replied that there would be an additional charge of £147.66 !!! That's more than a quarter of my original premium!
This seems a ridiculous amount just to cover the car with a different alloys! Anyone else had simialr experience? I have replied asking them to double check the figure in the hope that they have made a mistake.

Andy,
I put all my details in for a UK 97 with Elephant-it came to £600.
I then put my mods in (Brembos,SS exhaust,18" alloys,ITG filter)
The quote doubled to £1200!! And I'm in my very late thirties (ahem 30+14):-)I suggest if you want to mod your car further you change to Greenlight or Lifesure.
