Bit of a p*sser!!!
Placed my deposit on a 2004 Sti PPP and looking forward to it.
Trying to sort the insurance and it's a bugger!!
My current insurers "credited" me with 5 years NCB when I took out my policy a year ago. I have since got 1 year of my own. My renewal says "6 years (may include introductory bonus)".
They will not/can not cover me for the Sti, so I have to go elsewhwere. In doing so, I can only have 1 years NCB.
Now..........if I went to some companies with zero NCB, but a clean record as a named driver, I might get (as I did before) "credited" with the NCB for that period, but.......as I have 1 year of my own, I can only have that!!
So...I go with zero NCB and get 5, but go with 1 and get 1.
If I actually had zero NCB and went to some companies, they will give 1 years introductory, but if I go with 1 year of my own......I get nothing from them.
IT STINKS!!!!
And......PPP doesn't half make it hard to insure!!! I can insure a 2005 (301) car, but not a 2004 (265) car with PPP. MADNESS!!!!
GARY........Come to my rescue please!!!!!! I've paid my deposit and want the car, but I'm fooked if I'm paying £1200 for insurance....I'm 40 years old FFS!!!!

The reason that the 2005 model is listed with ppp is that for while in 2005Subaru sold the car as standard with the PPP.
For all of the others you have to declare 15% engine chip and modified Exhaust.
You are right, it can be a right royal pain in the @rse. If you are not careful, some companies (this happened to me once with Privilege) will tick the "Prodrive extras" box and then also specify the component parts as well (15% Engine chip and modified exhaust) From memory it added 50% on to the cost.
With standard insurance companies you are better just declaring the parts and don't confuse the issue by saying "factory fitted" "approved" "Prodrive performance pack" etc, it just doesn't work, they have no clue what it is.
Your best advice is to try quotes form the three specialists on here, Gary at Keith Michaels is one of them.
PS I'm 40 and have just renewed my STI PPP insurance for £495
