Question Letter to insurance company?

Hey there
I'm having a few problems claiming for the damage caused to my car back in January by the storms https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...ight=wayneg555, so would like some advice!

When it happened my broker told me that i could claim through my insurance but would loose my no claims, which for me is a big no no (21 and a STi!!) so they advised claiming through my neighbours house insurance. My neighbor was very helpful about this and put in a claim for me. After hassling him every week (nearly 9 weeks now) about progress i got a little fed up so i phoned his broker myself today. After having a chat with them, they said that yes they knew about the claim but wouldn't be doing anything as it was an act of god as such! I argued that they were covered for 3rd party damages and as such should pay out, me being the third party! I made the point that if it had been me that had been hit would i have received anything and again they said no!!!!

So i decided to phone my insurance company again and this time they said that because i had already had the car repaired (had been advised to by 2 body shops as it was starting to rust really badly) they would take up the claim for me to get my money back with no risk to my no-claims bonus!!!!!

So here's the bit i need advice on, i have to write a letter to my insurance company saying what has happened so they can take up the claim. I'm no good at writing formal letters so do i basically say what i put above? any help would be greatly appreciated, feel free to post it on here or PM me

Thanks
Wayne

Say what you've said.

you consider it covered under the neighbours policy. you are claiming for £XXXX for the repair and you are using your legal protection (which is probably what they are going to use to get your cash back) and you'd appreciate a quick response or you'll be asking for the interest too!

Good luck
