Down Pipe and Up Pipe
#1
Ok folks, little question for you.
If i get an up and down pipe for my PPP'd MY01 (which id love to do ), thats illegal right cause of the emissions...
So how do i get an insurer to insure something thats illegal???
Or are there lots of people out there who are telling porkies.....
Do insurers insure for up and down pipes???
Jza

Simple answer is get it legal & keep performance
Look for High Flow Sports Cats.
Can get Sports Cat down pipes (claim to produce same performance improvements as full decat). I know GGR do one of these.
Or Sports Cat Centre Section (again claim to produce same performance improvements as full decat). I know PE do one of these.
If any one else has any other recommendations other than the above I would like to know as I trying to do the same thing myself

I was thinking of going for a complete de-cat system, but you've made me think twice! May be just a downpipe then....
My insurance already covers me for 'modified' exhaust (I have a WR Sport BB), up to 10% increase in power. I wonder how they would judge power before fitting of the exhaust, since looking at the dyno results for unmodified 99/00 cars the average is about 235bhp e.g. already nearly 10% on the 'official' figure published by Subaru.....
