Default typical price for 27 year old. 1 years NCB

Hi,

I'm 27 years old and have been driving since i was 18. I only have 1 years no claims bonus though as i was always on my old man's insurance until last january. No convictions etc. I'm currently driving an 04 plate leon cupra, remapped to 210bhp and paying £497 for insurance with admiral. Car is garaged overnight, secure carpark at work and an average of 15,000 miles a year.

I'm looking to change to either an my03 wrx or sti within a year and so was wondering what people were paying for insurance. particularly those in roughly the same circumstances as me.

I did a wee search on confused.com just to get a rough idea and the cheapest quote for both wrx and sti was Budget: £1300 for the wrx and £2200 for the STI. I thought these prices were way over the top.

i was thinking maybe a grand for an STI. am i just being naive???

the insurance could seriously damage my budget.

cheers,

Sat

Hi Satila,

We can certainly help you improve the figures you mentioned, not sure if we'll be sub/£1000 on an 03STI but we will certainly be able to improve upon the rates youve had so far.

log onto Welcome to Greenlight Insurance, Modified Car Insurance Specialist for a quotation.

Kind regards

Tony

Hmmmm! Applyied for a quote online and got this reply:

(I'm 27 btw, not under 27 but your system seems to think i am. got the following for both bog standard sti and bog standard wrx on 03 plate)

Dear Mr Satilaboy,

We thank you for taking the time to complete an online quotation enquiry.

Unfortunately the details entered into the system do not fit the required criteria for our specialist schemes.

However, if the vehicle is standard or only has a few minor modifications, we would recommend that you contact A Quote on 0800 298 2836 who should be able to provide a competitive quotation for you.

Additional Information:
We cannot quote Subaru Impreza turbos for drivers under the age of 27 unless you have at least 3 years NCB.

Sorry we are unable to help.

Hi Satila,

Having checked, you had left the ownership time of the vehicle blank and without details of your prior perfromance car driving/ownership would be unable to refer to our underwriters.

If you can PM me your driving experience in your own name over the last 12 months I will be able to refer this for you.

Kind regards

Tony
