Smile eCar / Young Driver

Well it was renewal time for me, and after a good few days of calling round and searching the internet eCar came up best for me.

I am:

21yo
2yr's CNB
SP30 - 3 points £60
1 Write-off 2005

Car:

UK Turbo Wagon 1998

Quote:

£1270 + £350xs
(I was getting 1500-2500 from everyone else)

This quote included my gf 21 with 1yrs exp and 1yrs NCB. I had a very good read through there small print and it seems to be ok. I get full EU cover, Breakdown, Window £60xs, Legal Cover etc.

I am sad to leave Keith Michaels as they done me well for the 1st year, unfortunatly they could not match the price nor could A-plan (this is not to say that they offer the same levels of cover as this budget insurance)

I guess i wont find out how good they are unless i need to make a claim, but they mite be worth a try for all you young drivers strugling to get quotes.

eCar Insurance - Welcome to eCar

thats because you drive an import fella. uk cars get the best quotes around in my experience... as said above everyone else wanted £3000+ on a uk turbo, ecar said £1750, i said ok lets do some business...

otherwise i wouldnt have been able to afford scooby ownership.

Hi Terror,

We dont offer cover as new business right now, you're best bet would be to seek out Gary Moulson (Keith Michaels) if you've got an import.

I've heard he covers one or two of those..

Kind regards

I would never go TPTF all you need is one uninsured driver to hit you and your in trouble, who will pay for the damage?

TPTF is fine on a old banger but not on a £3-6k car. I also thought the value of car limit for TPTF was £3k?

im 22 i know tpft to go fully comp is still only 1200. All on a provisional!!!

As far as cover for TPFT its really up to the company what they will cover up to because i know in my work it either 5k+ or less than 3years old
