New Owner - Questions!
First off, er hello just signed up for a 03 plate (newer not bug eye) WRX Wagon and looking at insurance. Car should arrive next saturday so i have got plenty to sort in the meantime.
Basically, the cheapest insurance so far has been Tesco but they want a tracker fitted. What is a good priced tracker that the insurance will be happy with? I've not needed one before so i don't have any idea. Was thinking RAC Trackstar but that looks a tad expensive.
Apart from that i just need to make some calls to the people recommended on here. With a certain amount of genius Greenlight refused to cover me because i have an IN10 (waits for the boos) However, it isn't as bad as it sounds. I was on a friend's motorbike and believed i was fully covered. After much arguing i got done for it despite paying out well over £1000 for insurance on two bikes and a car, all taxed, MOT'd and legal. Bit of a joke really.
Anyway i find it interesting that if you have been done for no insurance you can't get any!
Back to the point, what's a good tracker?

The price from tesco was good though, 650 FC with protected no claims (up to 9 years until two weeks ago) or 550 without.
Not bad i thought but i know the cover can be a little worse than desired.

Fivetide,
If you do go with Tesco make sure that you keep on top of them when you send a copy/fax to them of proof of Tracker being fitted.
It took me almost a month for them to accept the car had tracker installed. They lost my first copy via post and then when I was told "can you fax us a copy" with the agents name at the top a member of staff must have binned that copy by the time the agent who was dealing with me got in the following morning. I asked them on the fifth (yes 5th) time of loosing my copy just to call Tracker direct with my consent on my details by they refused. It took me six atempts almost seven to get them to cover my car under FULLY COMP.
During this time it took them a month and a half to reslove the problem and unknowing to me at the time (silly I know) I was not covered.
Remember that it will be a third party company that will install your tracker not tracker. Keep a copy all everthing the engineer gives you.
Good luck.
Steve

Thanks for the warning Steve. I've called Keith Michaels but as yet no call back... (ahem above). But Tesco want just £650 with the tracker and the issues outlined above. The dealer (Subaru official) will be fititng the tracker for £350 so that seems ok.
Subaru Insurance wanted £3000 even with the tracker!
