How much is reasonable?
First an explanation. My fiance was involved in a car accident recently. She is ok and got the standard two weeks courtesy car. After that the woman who caused the accident still hasn't contacted the insurance company. 
My fiance was told that she could hire a car and then claim it back and as money is tight for us at the moment we asked if she could use a "friends" car and then charge that back.
The insurance company agreed so she has been using my car for a while (scary though that has been!) What I want to know is how much we should be charging per week for the use of my car. I was thinking about £150 per week but my other half thinks it is a bit over the top.
Any suggestions? Anyone been in this situation?

What about phoning a few car hire places and getting some quotes? That my give you an idea and keep the quotes to show the insurance company.
Aim high and prepared to be knocked down.

Sounds like a good plan. Should I do like for like though? My other half got given a Nissan Almera I think and that works out to about £150 per week from Enterprise (who actually provided the car).
Is that good enough do you think?

Maybe go for a hire car in a class lower and you can use this justification/argument in your favour.
I don't think £150 sounds unreasonable!
In hindsight it may have been best to ask what you were entitled to when the insurance company gave the go ahead (although I know this doesn't help you now

I have a UK Classic turbo.
Going to have a look at some prices over the weekend and going for one lower is defintely a good idea. I would have thought £150 per week is more than acceptable.
Good advice for next time definitely. It has really been a learning experience for both of us, hopefully one we won't have to repeat in the near future, touch wood!
