Hahaha. Elephant are useless!!. They quoted me £1800 for a PPP WRX. I am 33 and have no convictions. It took them over 30 minutes to figure out what PPP was. I went elsewhere and got insured for £650 no problems.

Try either A-Plan or Gary.

Well im with them online and im only 23 and on my old mans insurance, which i know brings it down alot but i would of thought if your 41 with 5yrs no claims and on your own on the policy, it cant be much more than that if not less. cant hurt to try.

Now try it for just yourself. Get a shock. I even doubt they would insure you at all. If you are on your dad's policy, you are not even building up no claims for yourself.

I know, i cant even insure the car in my own name without paying silly money, as ive always been on my dads name for insurance, i know im not building any no claims but hopefully by the time i go on my own name, my insurance should be pretty resonable .

Doesn't matter what age you are, if you have 0 claims bonus and try to insure a scooby, it's going to be expensive (even if you're 41). I have found that some insurers do actually take into account the time you have been driving even if on another insurance policy (but to be honest it really doesn't make much difference).

Again either A-Plan or Gary will be the cheapest reliable option. (Many companies are a risk as they don't give you real cover).
