Hi Demon..

I'd be careful with Zenith buddy, we have dealt with them for some 10 years now (both pre and post to their being purchase by guardian holdings).

They trade in a group now, which includes Link Insurance.

The reason for saying be careful is that Zenith predominantly trade electronically and their products are very much akin to ronseal's approach (ie. Exactly what it says on the tin). Although their rates appear for grey import models upon the rating systems, the terms listed always advise that they do not cover "grey import" models.

This would mean that Zenith would be able to prove that they do not cover "greys" and could potentially repudiate a claim on this basis.

It may be that the broker in question has a specific scheme with Zenith, but in all my years of broking I have not come across this type of scheme with them to date.

You would be prudent to request written confirmation from Zenith that they are aware that your vehicle is an import and that they are happy to cover it on this occasion.

Kind regards

Tony
