Insurance Catch 22 - No insurance/MOT for Greenlight
Just got a very good quote from Greenlight on my 205 but they need the car to be MOT'd and Taxed before I can take the cover.
The MOT will be done the end of this week, followed by the tax.
You need MOT and Insurance certificates to tax the car, so not quite sure how I can tax/MOT it before doing the insurance or vice versa.
It also means driving to the MOT station without insurance
I wanted to get the insurance sorted today, then I could drive to the MOT testers on Thursday/Friday legally, followed by tax.
Anyone got any ideas on what I can do?

Tell them it's MOT'd? Or go to an insurance company who aren't quite so pathetic and who'll make allowances for your situation.
You could always trailer the car to the MOT station then call the insurance co. once it's done?

I'm assuming they must check against the DVLA computer or something.
I just need to get the insurance sorted, and with the long list of mods/requirements didnt want to go through the hour long phone calls each time and Greenlight had come up trumps
I'll see what Tony at GL says, and if its no go i'll have to try Keith Michaels I think.

I bought the car in 2003 and have been rebuilding it since July 04.
I suppose the "purchase" bit in my post was confusing, I meant purchase the policy not the car
